Spaces shaped
by real conversations
Most of our work comes from referrals. Here is what clients share when they pass our name along.
Back to HomeIn their own words
We started with the consultation to see how the process worked. What came back after the site visit was a written analysis so precise about our apartment that we felt genuinely listened to — not like a template had been applied. We went on to commission the full design package and are pleased we did.
My previous experience with designers involved a lot of back-and-forth with no clear endpoint. Verso Spaces operates differently — the revision phases are structured, every material choice is referenced properly, and the contractor they introduced actually delivered what was specified. Rare combination.
I booked the consultation only — I was not ready to commit further. What I received was more than I expected: a thorough spatial analysis and a mood document that has since guided decisions I made independently. If you are uncertain where to begin, this is a low-risk way to get proper professional input.
We were redesigning a small retail space and had been quoted by two other studios with vague deliverables. Verso Spaces presented a clear scope from the first meeting. The 3D renders meant we could approve the layout before a single wall was touched. That reduced stress considerably.
Siew Hui managed the renovation coordination for our home and the difference compared to managing contractors ourselves — which we had done before — was striking. She arrived at every site visit prepared, flagged two issues before they became problems, and the final arrangement session pulled everything together beautifully.
I appreciated that they were honest about what the space could realistically achieve given its dimensions — no overselling. The material palette selected was also genuinely well-suited to Malaysian climate, which is not something I had considered before. One small observation: communication could be slightly faster at the revision stage, but overall a strong experience.
Three projects in detail
Bangsar apartment, 900 sq ft
A long, narrow floor plan that felt dark and segmented. The owners wanted an open living area that still provided a sense of separation from the kitchen — without a full structural renovation.
Spatial replanning removed two non-structural partitions and introduced a joinery unit that defines the kitchen zone visually without closing it off. Lighting was redesigned with layered sources to address the depth problem. Materials selected in warm neutrals to unify the space across its length.
The completed space reads as considerably larger than its floor area. The owners described the change as turning a flat that felt like a corridor into one they now want to spend time in. Timeline: 8 weeks from brief to contractor handover.
"We did not realise how much the layout was working against us until it changed."
Mont Kiara office, 1,400 sq ft
A leased commercial unit used as a creative agency office. The existing layout prioritised desk density over atmosphere. Staff retention had become a concern and the director felt the space contributed to the problem.
Desk positions were reconfigured to create two distinct zones — focused work and collaborative space — with acoustic treatment added to the quieter zone. A materials palette of natural wood finishes, textured plaster, and warm lighting transformed the atmosphere without structural changes.
Staff feedback on the office environment improved measurably in the quarter following the renovation. The director reported two team members citing the space specifically in positive terms during reviews. Full Assembly & Finishing service, completed in 11 weeks.
"It looks like our company now, not like a generic serviced office."
Retail concept store, Bukit Bintang
A brand opening its first physical location had a clear aesthetic vision from their digital presence but no experience translating it into a retail environment. The space was 600 sq ft with low ceiling height.
A full Dimensional Design Service was commissioned, beginning with a consultation to establish how the brand's visual language could become spatial. Display fixtures designed as folded-panel forms echoed the brand identity. Pendant lighting drew the eye upward, compensating for the low ceiling.
The store opened on schedule. Within the first month of trading the owner noted that customer dwell time in-store was longer than expected for a brand of that stage. The space has since been photographed for two regional retail publications. Timeline: 7 weeks from brief to handover.
"Customers stay. That is the only thing that matters at this stage."
